Donut Theatre Winter Season!

September 21, 2007, Oklahoma City For immediate release

There’s a new kid in town, kids theatre that is! Family Theatre Warehouse, a leader in arts training in Oklahoma City, is introducing a professional children’s theatre troupe. “The Donut” children’s playhouse will feature quality productions of classic children’s stories with a blend of humor, adventure and wit.

Director Mark Morris says not to expect fractured fairy tales here, he wants to reintroduce the classics, “We’re not looking to ‘reinvent’ these stories. We want to stay true to the sense of adventure and wonder that we all felt when Ichabod Crane approached the Church bridge with the Headless Horseman hot on his heels!”

Morris, who has taught more than a thousand young Oklahomans a thing or two about acting, is excited to take the next step in his vision of providing Okc with its first “full service- all family- theatre”.

“ In addition to our acting and music theatre classes we are bringing our community theatre and theatre for young audiences to the forefront. We’re trying to fit a niche here in Oklahoma City.” That niche? Families going to the theatre together.

Their intitial offering will feature The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Emperor's New Clothes and The Night before Christmas. Performances will be on Tuesday, and Saturday mornings @ 11 and Thurs. afternoons at 4pm in their comfortable 125 seat theatre at the Family Theatre Warehouse production studio at 907 W. Britton in northwest Okc. Tickets are $5.50 or $4.50 for prepaid groups of fifteen or more, and can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 848-SHOW.
